Tour Uyuni salt flats from La Paz (3D/2N)
DESCRIPTION:
DAY 1: UYUNI – COLCHANI – INCAHUASI – HUAYLLAJARA OR SAN JUAN.
Before 1 day of your Salt flats tour at 7:30 p.m. Pick you up from your hotel in La Paz (downtown at 8:00 p.m. Departure Bus La Paz –Uyuni- Arrival 5:00 a.m. our local operator and / or partner will make pick you up from the bus station in Uyuni, and give detailed information of the tour. Breakfast (off one’s own bat).
The tour begins at 10:00 am with the meeting in the office in Uyuni then heads to to the biggest desert Salt, in vehicle (Land Cruiser – 4×4), on the way visit the following tourist attractions: first visit the train cemetery where you can see the old rusting trains from decades ago.
After this we continue to Colchani and witness how the salt is processed. We have lunch in the village and then move onto the salt flats themselves.
Where we will see the salt has been laced in mounds ready to be transported, the original Playa Blanca salt hotel (no longer used for guests) and visit Inca Huasi Island to see the giant cacti with over 10 meters, and have great views of the salt flats all around.
There will be plenty of time for taking amazing pictures and the salt before we head toward the village of (Huayllajara or San Juan) where we will spend the night (the salt hotel). If time allows, you might also have the chance to see the sunset on the salt flats (this depends on season and cannot be guaranteed, but is usually possible).
DAY 02: SAN JUAN – LAGOON – LAGUNA COLODARA
We awake early to have breakfast at the salt hotel, after we continue our adventure further south. On the way, we will appreciate of it magnifies it view of the active volcano Ollague, gaps Cañapa, Stinking, Chiarcota and Honda, and see llamas in their natural environment before continuing through the Chuguana desert area where the scenery will include a number of extinct volcanoes plus the semiactive Ollague.
As the journey continues we will pass by high altitude lagoons that are home to 3 species of flamingo before arriving into the desert of Siloli and the “tree of rock”. We then move onto the “Laguna Colorada”, an amazing red colored lake full of flamingos. Here is where we enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Park. In late afternoon Spend the night in Lagoon Red Family House (Basic service).
DAY 03: LAGOON – GREEN LAGOON – UYUNI
The third day we will have breakfast and leave early; our tour begins at 5:00 am. to visit the “Sol de Mañana” better known as “Morning Sun”, geysers and see the bubbling mud pools and steam jets., Continue with our trip to the hot springs – Polques, whrere you can decide to relax in the warm water pools of the local hot springs, then visit to the Lagoons “White and Green” located at the foot of the volcano Licancabur, at an altitude of 4,350 meters, the green color is due to the high content of magnesium that have the geological formations of the area, after our visit to the lakes we return to Uyuni and on the way, we will stop to have lunch and continue our journey through the Valley of the Rocks and typical populations of Villa alota, Kulpinaka and San Cristobal.
We arrive at the town of Uyuni approximately 6:00 pm.
If you desire the transfer to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile and you can do it, but you have to pay the aditional cost of $15 USD.
